Hey RCMP! You Had One Job!
So, I decided to drop by the RCMP Office today instead of messing around with phone roulette or whatever it’s called nowadays. I chilled in their lobby for like 20 minutes before an officer was able to see me.
We headed into the meeting room and had a chill chat about the person we were discussing. The officer told me it took him a while to come out because he was reviewing the file they already had on this person. What he ended up saying really ticked me off, but I managed to stay cool.
After two years of ensuring that we complied fully with the law and believing that everything was in order with the RCMP, it appears that there was a significant oversight on their part. Despite our diligent efforts, they failed to issue us a summons to inform us of our required court appearance as witnesses. Consequently, due to our absence from the court proceedings, the accused was acquitted. He got away with everything.

Yeah, we’re just finding this out today. This whole time we’ve been wondering what the hell was going on and apparently, NOTHING was! Not only did they not serve us properly, but they didn’t even let us know what was going on this whole time. They made a promise to us and they broke that promise by failing to get that summons to us.
I don’t know who was supposed to drop that off to us but they dropped the ball. How did they not follow through with it? Another officer came to our door for an entirely different case and served us a summons to appear as witnesses directly into our hands and we went and everything worked out fine.
Where do we go from here? Honestly? If that loser never crosses our path again and his name fades into oblivion, I’ll be thrilled. Yes, it enrages me that he didn’t face the consequences he deserved, but dwelling on it only spikes my blood pressure. Yes, I’m furious that the RCMP botched everything and shirked their duties—or whoever bungled it so epically. But whatever, I’ll just sip this coffee spiked with whisky and carry on with my life.
Got a ton of sh*t to do and have zero f*cks to give
I have a mountain of tasks staring me down today and I just can’t bring myself to give a damn. The lawn screams for a mow, the greenhouse covering is practically begging to be replaced, and the clutter screams to be vacuumed. But guess what? All of that can wait until I decide to care. Right now, I’m fresh out of f*cks to give.
I am so done with dealing with this idiot, may he get the day he deserves and whoever dropped the ball on this get the day they deserve also. I can’t believe how many times I’ve had to step in and fix their mistakes. It’s exhausting and frustrating, and it feels like I’m the only one who actually cares about doing things right. If only people would take responsibility for their actions, maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place. The incompetence and lack of accountability are just astounding.
Conclusion…

So, here’s the bottom line: the RCMP royally botched it, and we’re left picking up the pieces while the guilty party walks free. It’s maddening, but I’m done letting it eat away at me. Justice wasn’t served, and it’s infuriatingly clear that this system failed us when we needed it most.
What do you think? Should there be consequences for the RCMP’s oversight? How do we hold them accountable for dropping the ball so spectacularly? Share your thoughts in the comments below. Let’s get this discussion rolling because staying silent clearly isn’t working.
