Flashback Fridays Chapter 25 – Reminiscing About The Great Old Days Of Blogging

Flashback Fridays Chapter 25

Here is Flashback Fridays Chapter 25, a weekly series of entertaining flashbacks of blog posts I’ve written over the past 20 years of blogging. It’s surreal to consider that I’ve been blogging for 20 years.
Using the Wayback Machine to select a few old posts that we believe would be interesting and humorous and post them each week in this Flashback Fridays series. So, let’s take a look at what was going through my mind all those years ago.
When I was younger, I was such a nerd. Please use your discretion when reading these posts because I used profanity a lot.
Let’s get to Flashback Fridays Chapter 25!

TGIF! (Thank Goodness It’s Friday!) – Flashback Fridays Chapter 25
June 24th, 2005 by MacBros
Cheers everybody out there in my own little world. Today I had a pretty fair day at work so nothing to rant about today, sorry.
Got my K all set up and a couple of Playstation 2 games to play (Psychonauts and Destroy All Humans) and I’m buzzed already. I’m breaking my own rule, Don’t drink on an empty stomach. Oops! LOL
Well, The game Destroy All Humans is pretty funny actually, I haven’t had the chance to play the other one yet. Going to have the Nephew over tomorrow because the parents need a break and need a day of rest. Crazy Kid thinks this place is a funhouse, but unfortunately, it’s a funhouse for the ladies.
I’m not touching that shop today. I’m not doing anything on anything, is that an actual sentence?
I’m buzzed right now so I’ll try to type as best I can…..
Let’s see, what happened at work today… ??? The only thing I can think of is that Corey spent the day farting all day!
Oh! The other night I had a weird dream… You know how pissed off I was to see a Has-Been on the Canadian Idol show and how much I thought that I hated the fact that the producers allowed this. Well The other night I dreamt that I was an audience member sitting behind the judges, but in this case, the judges were the ones from American Idol, What can I say? At least Paula looks better than the hung-over Sas Jordan crack whore every Wednesday.
But the thing is, when David Moffatt finished his song on the show (Which I didn’t even see) I leaned forward to Simon Cowal (spelling) and said, why the fuck is he even on the show, this show is about new talent, not has-beens? Simon leans back to face me and says, ” You know John, you have to be the only fucken intelligent person in this fucken audience because I’ve been fighting this decision for months now.!”
Then the next dream I remember took place at work, and I think this is the reason I’m all fucked up on my days. I seem to be off for a week. I can remember chatting with Corey about how much cash he made at work and the fact I lent him $20 and bugged him about forking it over RICH BOY! (Corey if you’re reading this, this is a true story, not made up just to get you to pay me back, if you can’t don’t worry about it, right away that is…)
But anyway, Corey pulls out his wallet and it pops open by itself and tons of $50 bills flows out like a waterfall and he says, “Just grab one of them and we’re even.” I went to grab two because there were thousands of dollars flowing out of his wallet, but he screamed, “I SAID ONE!!!!”
BEEEP!!BEEEP!!BEEEP!!BEEEP!!BEEEP!! (sound of my alarm clock going off)
Time to get up and go to work… I thought to myself, I’m getting too involved in TV, I gotta give it a rest.
Now back to the K.. Mmmm Mmmm Good!
Vote on the poll to see what beer is preferred amongst the readers. If you want me to add another brand just post it here.
What a fitting post for today, a TGIF one.
I don’t know what I was rambling about in this one folks. And just FYI, I’m just starting my K’s now.

Destroy All Humans! And Heat! – Flashback Fridays Chapter 25
June 27th, 2005 by MacBros
I’m going to start off just by saying, “Holy cow it’s hot!” It peaked at 36’C on Saturday and it was a non-productive day. My nephew was over to play video games and that was about all the action that was going to take place. It was just too hot to be moving around.
I managed to to finish the game ‘Destroy all Humans” which was a fun and fun game to play. You play the part of an invading alien that is trying to foil the plans of a secret group (Men in Black). Vaporizing people and sucking out their craniums. It’s all fun. As an added bonus, when completing the game you get about five B-Movies to watch. I tried to watch one of them but just couldn’t get into it. Old black n’ white movies with cheap special effects, you know the ones, with spacecraft hanging from a string?
Well, it’s back to work tomorrow, Yippie! NOT!
Getting sleepy. Going to sleep now.
G’night.
I loved the game ‘Destroy All Humans” and later on they made “Destroy All Humans 2” which was pretty much the same game IMO. I heard that they were going to make a PS5 version which should be good. Or that could just have been a false rumour.

Black Cats N’ Broken Mirrors – Flashback Fridays Chapter 25
June 28th, 2005 by MacBros
I’m having a case of bad luck again this month. I’ve been preoccupied the past two days with my bank because of something I noticed yesterday on my account. Two, count ’em’ TWO $200.00 checks were filled out and were returned NSF! Of course, they’re going to be NSF because I don’t have any cash in my bank.
On top of that the bank is charging me $50 for the NSF checks, which is how I noticed the things to begin with. But the thing is, I never filled out two $200.00 checks, I hardly even use them things. So yesterday I went to the bank to see what was going on, but the Manager wasn’t in, so I took care of some other personal things that I had to take care of since I took the day off.
I’m not going to get into details but I just wanted to take care of some shit before my next quarter starts at work.
Now today in the afternoon I’m going back to see WTF is going on, to see if there are any more NSF checks being made and to find out who the fuck is cashing these things before the cops come looking to me for fraud for writing bad checks!
So I’m off work again today to take care of the matter. Just waiting for my friend to get here to drive me into town.
What did I do to deserve all this bad luck? Did somebody put a spell on me? A curse? Something? I don’t remember breaking any mirrors or crossing a black cat’s path. Does the universe just hate me? What the heck happened that is giving me such bad luck lately?
I’d advise people to stay away from me just in case a piano falls on their head, or slips on a banana peel and breaks their neck.
The only thing I’m actually getting any luck with is winning Playstation 2 games. Last night I finished Psychonauts which is a neat and fun game to play. A unique third-person psychic adventure through the minds of misfits, monsters and madmen….
Just what the Doctor ordered. The game had a lot of humorous clips in between missions that made it all that more addictive to complete each one just so you could watch more. It was like playing a story and the story unfolded the more you played. Fun!
Well, my drive should be here shortly. See ya and wish me luck!
Update!
Well the NSF check trouble has been sorted out for now. Police are going to investigate the stores where the checks were cashed to see if they can find the person responsible and they are going to check the address that the new box of checks was sent to.
The bank wasn’t going to remove the $50 charge for the NSF checks till I had mentioned it. They said that they’ll wait till the cops find proof, but I said if they do that when my pay goes into the account on Thursday I’ll be short $50. With enough bitching, they said they’ll remove the fee.
Now I’ve got to get some dinner, I’m starving! Didn’t eat all day!
Phew, it’s hot in here!
I was with TD Bank back then. They weren’t going to reverse the charges at all until I put up a big fuss. I explained to them that they were at fault for sending blank cheques to the wrong address, If I didn’t point this out they would have made me pay the NSF fees and the lost money from my account.
Needless to say, they didn’t have my best interest in mind and couldn’t have given a fuck about what happened. So that’s why I closed my account with them.

Converted? OH NOOOO! – Flashback Fridays Chapter 25
June 28th, 2005 by MacBros
Friend Corey has been going on about the Firefox Browser and I’ve been farting around with it today and have come to like it over Internet Explorer.
Ok Corey you can say it. I told you so.
I find it’s quicker than the other ones I’ve tried, plus little features that I like also, like the bookmarks and the username and password thingy that remembers who I am when I get into a certain site or sites.
Well, I’ve been converted!
Time for Canadian Idol.
Poll set up later.
l8r
Does anybody remember when Firefox first came out? It was good, wasn’t it? I was an avid Internet Explorer user there for a bit after I converted to it from Netscape. Remember Netscape, LOL?
Firefox would eventually become another bloated memory hog and I would have switched around from browsers like Opera, and IE, and then Chrome came out.
Never failed though. Even Chrome today is getting to be another memory hog.

Payday and Partaaay! – Flashback Fridays Chapter 25
June 30th, 2005 by MacBros
Wippieeeee!
A super long weekend starting this evening after work! I’ll actually be off a few days and not because I’m sick or something. Yippie!
I’m getting thirsty thinking about it already. Friday is Canada Day and just across the street, there’s going to be a Beer Garden that a few of my friends and I will be attending. So I’m pretty sure I’ll be pretty damn drunk Friday night. Cheap beer, come on now! Who wouldn’t!? I know I will and so will my friends. We’re all liquor pigs around here I guess.
So hopefully today goes by fast at work. I was going to work tomorrow and get double time and a half, but I just can’t pass up the opportunity to have an extra day off from work, with pay.
I’m looking into another ad company to place content ads on the site to generate extra revenue. I was thinking about the ones my friend Corey has, but I think I’ve found something better. I’m still looking into it though because I don’t want to clutter the site up with crap and then lose the content of the site by burying it under ads.
And then there’s the Online store. I’m still working on it because it will take a long time to complete. There are some other considerations I need to think about also, like Canadian sales being worth all the shipping and handling. For US orders I can have drop shipped to the customers from the shipping warehouse in the States, but Canadian orders have to come to me and then I have to ship them to the customers, so that’s like double shipping charges.
So I think I’ll have US orders only for now, but if I do include CND ordering, the prices will be high to cover shipping. I have to work out a solution so that isn’t the case.
Well, gotta get ready for my drive to work.
I’ll be back tonight!
l8r
The irony of this post being about a long weekend. We’re actually starting the Labour Day long weekend today.
When you’re a young beer-loving bachelor who lives next door to a beer garden, working and missing out on it is not an option, LOL. Cheap beer and live entertainment with local and international bands playing great music.
That online store I keep mentioning. You’re probably wondering what it was. Or not. I had a membership with a company that gave me access to products that I could purchase at manufacturing costs, like most retail stores have. I was able to buy household items like decore and outdoor decore. And resell them at a 300% markup. Just like most retail stores do.
The online shop did very well. It got to be a lot of work so I sold it to a cousin, who actually ended up opening up a shop. That was so long ago, the site was called Good Connections. The website changed to another name eventually. Can’t remember it though. Been out of touch with them for too long.
