Flashback Fridays, the first chapter

Flashback Fridays

Here is the first of what I hope will be a weekly series of entertaining and fun flashbacks of blog posts I’ve written over the past 20 years of blogging. It’s surreal to consider that I’ve been blogging for 20 years.

I first hosted my own website at home. Running it on an old computer that I installed an Apache server on. I made use of one of those free DNS Alias domains that you can use for your website.

When I was younger, I was such a nerd. Please use your discretion when reading these posts because I apparently used profanity a lot.

We, therefore, intend to use the Wayback Machine to select a few old posts that we believe would be both interesting and humorous and to post them each week in this Flashback Fridays series. So, let’s take a look at what was going through my mind all those years ago. Let’s get to these Flashback Fridays!

Good Mornin’ Everybody!

November 19th, 2004 by MacBros

Well, I’ve been thinking about the site a bit this morning.
I don’t think I’ll bother with placing links to the past versions of this website. Instead of having this as my portfolio site, I think I’ll leave it as a personal site. I’m just going to have my blog and a few of my ‘Best Of‘ Videos.
Once I retrieve all my pictures from the few dozen CDs I have lying around I’ll re-open the gallery. As far as the new ones, well.. they were lost in the format also.

*note to self: BACK UP YOUR  STUFF!!!*

You’ll see the link buttons appear to the left as I get each section completed. Until then folks,

‘Thats All’

.

L8er, I’ve got grocery shopping to do.

Yup, back when we stored things on CD Roms. Before then it was all on floppy disks. I can remember having hundreds of 1.5MB floppy disks filled with MIDI files that I created back in the day of my musical days. I made some pretty good money composing music in MIDI format.

** DROOL **
I just got Rogers installed here and the speeds are sweet!!
2004-11-19 12:31:55 EST: 3474 / 793
Your download speed: 3558270 bps, or 3474 kbps.
A 434.3 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed: 812897 bps, or 793 kbps.
YEA!

I’ll need to let everybody know my new e-mail address soon.

But I have PS2 Game now and beer to drink. Call Of Duty: Finest Hour. New one

L8er

WOW! Those speeds right!? LOL! I would lose my shit if I had those speeds today. Imagine trying to watch a YouTube video or stream a Netflix show with this sad internet speed.

Playing Call of Duty: Finest Hour on the PlayStation 2. Now you know that was a long time ago with that old console and game!

Call of Duty: Finest Hour

Damn this game rawks!
Too bad, it’s a rental because I’m stuck and it has to be returned tomorrow.
Where’s a good cheat code when you need one?
Anyway, back to work tomorrow. I have been playing around with all the features Rogers gives me. I like the music player and games.
Well, I got to go to bed.
G’night!

Mac,

So glad to see that you have independence and peace of mind! As for the PS2, I now have one temporarily because I traded my GameCube for it. Can’t wait to play Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 over the Christmas Break! How is the songwriting potential gig going?

Had to remove that entry, Devin. Apparently, the Non-Disclosure was almost in breach. Oops! LOL!

HA! I used to type out ‘Rawks’ instead of Rocks because I thought it looked more badass. I also typed out ‘Kewl’ instead of Cool.

I haven’t seen a cheat code for a game in a very long time. To be honest, I don’t really look for them. They’re not really necessary for the games anymore, in my opinion. Nowadays, video games aren’t as challenging as they used to be.

During that time, a friend of mine commented on a project I was working on. When I told him that I was writing a video game score, he unknowingly posted the details in his comment, which I had to remove because of an NDA I was bound by with the game developer. It was a jet fighter game by Ocean Software, but I can’t recall the name of the game. After that, a lot of their titles ended up incorporating my work.

    Conclusion…

    Conclusion

Well, this concludes this week’s chapter of Flashback Fridays. Let me know in the comments if you like this whole idea of Flashback Fridays being posted every week. Or don’t. I don’t have a lot of commenters here anyway, just a lot of readers and lookie-loos.

If you enjoyed this Flashback Fridays post, be sure to come back next week for Flashback Fridays Chapter 2.
