Happy Birthday To Me

OK, you can all start wishing me a happy birthday today.

Yup, it’s my 52’nd year here on this third rock from the sun. Wow! Fifty-fu*ken-two years old. Seems like it was just yesterday when I was in my 40s.

I expect lots of Happy Birthday wishes from every single one of you. If you don’t wish me a happy birthday, then you’ll have to send me Two Gifts. Because those who wish me a happy birthday will only have to send me one birthday gift.

There is one gift that you can never go wrong with, and those who know me well know it’s Alexander Keith’s IPA. Yup, best gift ever.

My Girlfriend asked me if I wanted the PlayStation 5 game Stray. LOL! Well, YEAH! Of course, I do. Have you even seen gameplay footage of that game? It looks awesome! And yes, I love Kitty Cats. And Doggies. Pretty much all animals actually.

But…

Unfortunately, with getting older and adulting, I have to go to work to help pay the bills. The days of young Mac partying all day and night ended about 10 to 15 or so years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy my wobbly pops on my day off, that’s right, I said day as in one day off, but I’m not like the younger me that’ll stay up till the sun comes up anymore. I’ve had my fun.

It’s not 100% the best day of the year anymore, unfortunately.

Although today is my birthday, it would have also been my parent’s Anniversary. That kinda bums me out because they both passed away and I miss them both very much. And whenever this day comes around I get that lump in the throat and that knot in the chest.

I lost my Mom to Cancer in 2016 and then my Father to Pulmonary Fibrosis the following year in 2017. Those were a rough couple of years if you can imagine. I get so angry about how they were taken away from us. It was not peaceful. It was terrible not being able to do anything for them as they suffered. I miss them so very much.

So although it is my Birthday, it is also a Vigil.

Conclusion…

Sorry for going all Debbie Downer there for a moment. I just get worked up when I think about them. I will never move on from them.

I’ll probably enjoy a few wobbly pops tonight while watching a movie or TV show with my lovely girlfriend. As I mentioned before, I have to get up in the morning to go to work and take my girlfriend to work too.
