It Takes Two
"It Takes Two" is a relationship-testing, adrenaline-pumping, co-op masterpiece that demands two players, conquers critics, and sparks playful bickering. Beware: it may strain your relationship and dental insurance!

It Takes Two was on sale and we got it

First off, “What is It Takes Two?” Imagine a game so revolutionary that it demands two players, shunning the lone gamer lifestyle entirely. It Takes Two, the 2021 cooperative action-adventure platformer from Hazelight Studios, distributed by Electronic Arts, isn’t just a game; it’s an experience. Disdainful of single-player mode, it thrives on the dynamics of online or local split-screen multiplayer.

Released across multiple platforms in March 2021, and capturing even Nintendo Switch in November 2022, this masterpiece didn’t just impress critics—it conquered them, sweeping up Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021 and at the 25th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards. Boasting sales of over 16 million units as of March 2024, It Takes Two isn’t just a game; it’s a phenomenon.

Couples be warned!

If your relationship is sweet and tight, consider this the ultimate reality check! You’ll find yourselves in situations where you’ll bite your lip so hard, that dental insurance should be on standby. Expect some voice-raising moments that you’ll regret faster than a New Year’s resolution. This game imitates your real-life partnership so well that you’ll laugh out loud, wondering if the developers have been eavesdropping!

It’s currently on sale on the PlayStation Store

We’ve been eyeing this one like a hungry cat eyeing a canary. Initially, they wanted over $60 for it, and we just couldn’t bring ourselves to shell out that kind of cash for a game that looked like it might be as short as a cat nap. But when we saw it was 70% off, I pounced on that deal faster than you can say “catnip”! Fast forward to three days of marathon gaming sessions (yes, we had other stuff to do, but the game turned us into addicts). After about 30 hours of play, we had a blast—complete with all the playful bickering you’d expect from a group of sleep-deprived cats trapped in a room!

Suppose you don’t have a Playstation account that’s fine. Get your copy from Amazon easily. I can’t guarantee the 70% off but when I tell you that the full price is worth it, I’ll refer to that video above.

This is not a kid’s game; if you’re a helicopter parent, prepare for a bumpy ride because there are a few bad words that might have your little ones mimicking in hilarious, albeit slightly inappropriate, ways, especially given how children love to imitate what they hear and see, often leading to moments that are both amusing and a tad embarrassing for parents.

Seriously, folks! Grab this game ASAP! I’m a guy, and we had an absolute blast playing it. Sure, there were moments where I—uh, we—totally lost our cool, but trust me, it’s all part of the fun!

It Takes Two Conclusion

To wrap it up, folks, if you’re looking for a game to test the very fabric of your relationship, “It Takes Two” is your go-to adrenaline-pumping, laughter-inducing, sleep-depriving delight! Just make sure your dental insurance is up to date, and remember: it’s all in good fun—even the voice-raising moments. Trust us, we’ve been there, done that, and have the cat memes to prove it!
