Setting up our diesel heater

This week, we swapped out the UV plastic on our greenhouse and ushered in our trusty, reliable Vevor Diesel heater—our new thermal knight-in-shining-armour, extending our gardening season by a few extra months. These Chinese diesel heaters have become the MVPs of our greenhouse, mainly because they won’t empty our wallets like propane, kerosene, or electric space heaters. Yep, we’ve been around the block with the whole heater squad, and Diesel takes the crown for being the budget-friendly hero!

With the modifications I made by replacing the original fuel tank with a much larger container, the need for refilling has significantly decreased, making the whole process much more convenient.

What’s with the blower fan?

We employ a blower fan to inflate the barrier between the dual layers of UV plastic. There are two layers of UV plastic enveloping the greenhouse. By channelling air between these layers, we establish a cushion of air that forms an additional insulation barrier.
