Well here is Flashback Fridays Chapter 5, a weekly series of entertaining and fun flashbacks of blog posts I’ve written over the past 20 years of blogging. It’s surreal to consider that I’ve been blogging for 20 years.

Using the Wayback Machine to select a few old posts that we believe would be both interesting and humorous and to post them each week in this Flashback Fridays series. So, let’s take a look at what was going through my mind all those years ago.

When I was younger, I was such a nerd. Please use your discretion when reading these posts because I apparently used profanity a lot.

Let’s get to Flashback Fridays Chapter 5!

Video UPDATE!

November 28th, 2004 by MacBros

Ok, I’ve posted a few more videos that I’ve done. You just have to click on the link to the left that says ‘Video Clips’ (Duh!)
You’ll need the Real Player Plug-in to watch these.

Next on the agenda is to get my photo gallery back up.

The Real Media Player was the equivalent of the MP4 player of today; does anyone remember that plugin you had to have on your browsers in order to play RM files? To get them to stream on the website, I had to convert everything from MOV to RM, which I detested doing.

The FL media for video files was released by Macromedia Flash, later known as Adobe Flash, not long after. And yes, in order to play those files in your browser, you also needed another plugin.

Plugins are no longer necessary because modern browsers can play all major media files.

@ The Movies

November 28th, 2004 by MacBros

Just got finished watching “Christmas With The Kranks”.
For everybody that visits here wondering what I thought of the movie, unfortunately, my rating system isn’t working yet on the blog.
I’ll have to put that on my things-to-do list. But I’ll still let you know what I thought.
The movie was pretty damn good, and I laughed a lot. I’ll give it 4 out of 5 stars (insert stars here), and a two thumbs up.

It’s worth your time, and Timm Allen didn’t do that badly. Maybe that’s because supporting actress Jamie Lee Curtis doing a good job as well. Never thought she could be good at Comedy, but she did well.
A lot of other good actors were in the movie, like Dan Aykroyd, and Cheech Marin, and they even had the youngest kid from Malcolm in the Middles, Erik Per Sullivan.
If you’re looking for a good holiday flick to watch. Go see ‘CWTK’

MacDonald Out! (Well that doesn’t sound as good as Seacrest Out)
I’m outta here, l8er

At that time, I began writing brief movie reviews. I also provided a trailer that I would have edited to highlight the parts of the films I thought were particularly good for viewers. As a result of my movie reviews, my website experienced significant growth. Maybe because I’m just a regular shmo and not some snobby, wealthy TV personality.

TV = Blah!

November 29th, 2004 by MacBros

What’s up with the TV shows lately?
There’s never anything decent to watch. And if something does come on it’s usually a re-run. Or if a new series starts, it gets bad ratings and goes off the air.
Point being… I’m fucken bored right now…

Only if 2004 me saw what 2023 me has for TV show options. 2004 me would be saying he doesn’t have enough time in a day to watch all the great TV shows that are on all the time now. But yeah, I can remember there always being nothing but re-runs on basic cable TV. It sucked a lot and it was around that time that I cut the cable completely and never went back. Still don’t have cable TV to this day.

Comment Security

November 29th, 2004 by MacBros

Ok. I’ve gotten a few e-mails from folks that want me to enable the comments so all you need is an e-mail instead of logging in.
I’ve done it, but all comments will be screened to avoid them fucken spammers.

l8er

Who can remember how bad comment spam was back in the day? I had to spend about an hour or more going through spam comments and deleting them manually. It was a real pain in the ass. Thankfully now it’s not a huge problem anymore with the current anti-spam features in WordPress today.

Yet Another Reality TV Show.

November 30th, 2004 by MacBros

I just finished watching the Series Premier of “The Real Gilligans Island” and I thought that it was actually good. It’s like Survivor but with a better twist and a goal at the end, getting rescued from the island. There is a lot of fighting and comedy. The way Survivor was before it got boring.
Looks like I’ll have something worth watching on Tuesdays now.

Well, it’s late.
I’ll see you all later.
G’night.

Wow, I completely forgot about that show. Hey, why didn’t they continue that one? That one was good, and it seems like the good shows don’t run for very long. People continue to watch stupid television like The Kardashians and other shows that don’t require sustained attention.

It’s great that the major streaming services are now investing a lot of money in top television programs like The Mandalorian, Star Trek Pickard, and similar ones.
